I tried this new diet for the past 2 weeks. Portion control?? Not so much. Low fat?? Whats that?? counting calories?? Puh-lease!! It was high fat, high portions, and Lord knows how many calories. So needless to say it did not work out for me. Not at all. I got sick over the weekend.... real sick. I think it was my gallbladder, actually I know it was my gallbladder. I had a similar attack while pregnant with Red and one after she was born which landed me in the ER. I seemed to be doing fine with a few small aches here and there, but totally manageable... until Friday night when I had an attack to end all attacks. I had dinner with my family (chili, not such a great choice) then went over to a friends house. I felt it start up on my way to her house, by the time I got there it was ON!! I stayed for like 20 minutes thinking it would subside, then decided to leave. I vomited twice on the way home (did you read the part where I had chili for dinner? Nuf said). I really did not feel better until the next morning.
I hope to make an appointment this week with the doctor, for some reason I have been blowing this off for YEARS!! I guess I am waiting for pancreatic involvement. Or more attacks. I am really not sure. I am also not sure why I continue to spiral out of control when it comes to eating right. Sometimes I totally sympathize with drug addicts or alcoholics, I know how they must feel. The craving, the overdoing it, the guilt. LOTS of guilt. The knowing how you sometimes have no control, yet have the knowledge, power, and support to take control. But don't.

I konw a lot of people that had to have thier gallbladder removed. Most were in and out of surgery and home in a few hours and living in Vicodin land for a few days and poof better. Dont wait, go find out about it. Better then being in pain or worse being somewhere and having an attack you cant recover well from.
As for the diet plan road lol well some times we just have to stumble a while before the path opens up before us. Hang in there. Keep trying and never give up.
You will find what works for you.
YOU CAN DO IT!!
*huggles*

Oh the gallbladder thing. I had to have mine removed. How I wish I had just started eaten properly but I believe that there is a time for everything and now is my time without the gallbladder. Take care and have a great week.
Chilli for the 2nd time would be gross. Hopefully you didn't ruin it for future eatings (I love the stuff, but only once a couple months).
I know lots with it out too (my family has a thing). Dont' be afraid...letting it go is way worse and more dangerous.
I do know the avoiding the doctor thing. For years, I made excuses and skipped out on bloodwork because I was afraid it would be discovered that I had diabetes. Why I thought NOT finding this out would help, I do not know.
But I can totally relate.
Ugh, sorry you had such a rough time. Hope you can get some help from the doc. Also, I totally understnad that out-of-control feeling. I am wondering lately if stop trying to control so much might be the answer--crazy as that sounds. I read an article that referred to a book called Intuitive Eating that I'm going to buy soon. I'm also surfing the website http://www.intuitiveeating.com
My cousin had developed all sorts of weird allergies to everything. And one days she had to have her gall bladder removed, and poof, the allergies were gone. Weird huh?
After all my stomach problems, I thought maybe it was my gall bladder, but turns out it was a soy allergy. *shrug*
Good luck, I hope you start to feel better soon!

Oh.my.god. Feel better!
You take care of yourself and rest up!
Oh wow! I hope you're feeling better, my gallbladder nags me when I eat greasy food.
You can do this!
Oh man do I sympathize with you!
I had mine taken out going on close to 20 years. I didn't have mini attacks just 3 huge ones! I thought I was having a heart attack they hurt so bad.
Don't wait until it gets worse. At least the recovery time was quick--I just have a hard time with peanuts and bananas, they tend to give me heartburn.
Good luck with it.
OUCH..I hope you feel better..please let us know what it was. Maybe we can help find solutions! How's Kindergarten treating you? I hope well. COngrats on all the winnings..you DESERVE IT ALL. You are awesome.
I can't thank you ENOUGH for mentioning the OCM. I started researching it over the weekend and started sunday night. I am HOOKED. You did a good deed, my friend. I learned so much when researching it. Thank you! Please feel better soon. {{hugs}}
